What are the flashes of lightning coming from the throne?

⁵ Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. (Revelation 4:5a)

I believe these are manifestations of Jesus responding to prayer.

²⁴ For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. (Luke 17:24)

⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

²⁵ Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. (Hebrews 7:25)
