The Sabbath

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. (Exodus 31:12-13)

It is a comforting thing during life’s storms to have written confirmation that something you are observing such as a day of rest is a sign that the LORD is the One who is sanctifying you, or, changing you to become more like Him (Romans 6:19).

So, yes, the Sabbath is a shadow of what is to come (Colossians 2:16-17), but if you are having questions on if you are hearing from God, picking a day to observe the Sabbath based on your convictions is a good place to start.
