Jesus’ final instructions to Peter

Jesus gives three final instructions before His ascension to Peter

Tend My lambs, Shepherd My sheep, Tend My sheep

To Tend, is to feed, and a lamb was used as the representation for a man’s wife when Nathan rebuked David. (2 Samuel 12:1-9)

So if shepherding means to rule and sheep are depicted as followers of Jesus (John 10:16)
