Jesus’ colorful robes

There are four accounts, one in each of the gospels, of Jesus being presented with a robe during the time of His crucifixion.

Matthew 27:28 says,

They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.

Mark 15:17 says,

They dressed Him up in purple, and after twisting a crown of thorns, they put it on Him;

John 19:2 agrees and says,

And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and put a purple robe on Him;

And Luke 23:11 says,

And Herod with his soldiers, after treating Him with contempt and mocking Him, dressed Him in a gorgeous robe and sent Him back to Pilate.

I believe the reason for the changes in colors is symbolic of Jesus’ flesh becoming the veil as it says in Hebrews 10:20.

Exodus 26:31 says,

“You shall make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen; it shall be made with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman.

And when I was searching for a possible answer to the missing color in Luke, I was led to Esther 8:15 and found the color blue. It says,

Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal robes of blue and white, with a large crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced.

Tying this altogether, Jesus’ flesh was torn as it became the veil. He took on the punishment of our sins so that we could stand as Mordecai did who is a symbolic representation of us, standing before God as the bride of Christ, sins were red as scarlet, now white as snow, and a crown of gold for a crown of thorns.
