Why did Jesus weep?

He had raised dead people other times and didn’t weep. It could have been because they were friends, but that is what the people said which usually was not correct. I believe it was because of sin. The wages of sin is death and where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more. Lazarus died during Jesus’ active ministry and his sister performed such a wonderful act that Jesus said what she did would be spoken of in every gospel. Kindness to the wicked does no favors, perhaps Jesus waited so as not to get in the way of the Father’s rebuke by playing favorites.
