My test
Voice: Where does it say Jesus is God?
Within: I believe somewhere in John
Voice: Where is the second witness?
Within: Stephen in Acts, he prayed to Jesus, you only pray to God
Voice: He was rebuked for his error and fell to his knees immediately, asking for the forgiveness of something they did not know was wrong, because he had just done something wrong.
Within: The magi came to worship Jesus, you only worship God
Voice: They were Gentiles they do not know how to worship without idolizing.
Within: The women at the tomb
Voice: Don’t count.
Within: Really?? And the man born blind? He worshipped Jesus also.
Voice: He was born in sin.
At this point I could finally discern the spirit of the accuser by his previous argument not changing. Discrediting and throwing something out for “being born in sin”
34 They answered him, “You were born entirely in sins, and are you teaching us?” So they put him out. (John 9:34)
I was then led back to John 1:1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
and then verse 18 and Titus 2:13. This encounter confirmed my interpretation of how Jesus was tested in the wilderness. Satan came in spirit to deceive Jesus and He had to discern with Scriptures who the spirit was.
1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)
15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15)
17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. (Matthew 28:17)
