The spirit of Babylon

The founders of the original Babylon were close enough in the timeline of the flood to have had eyewitness testimonies still. Its founder, Nimrod, was Ham’s grandson. The command to be fruitful and multiply, filling the earth to govern would have therefore, been known. Somehow, they chose to stay in place and make a tower that could reach to heaven, sealed with tar for mortar to waterproof in case of future floods. So what spirit was there leading them? One that said God was a liar and that He would use water again. What is that for us? A spirit in the church, the gathering, that claims to have witnessed God’s outpouring and denies His word is the spirit of Babylon.

The sons of Ham were Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan. The sons of Cush were Seba and Havilah and Sabtah and Raamah and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan. Now Cush became the father of Nimrod; he became a mighty one on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.” 10 The beginning of his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. (Genesis 10:6-10)

1And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. (Gensis 9:1)

It came about as they journeyed east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. They said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly.” And they used brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar. They said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:2-4)

I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues; (Revelation 18:4)
