Why didn’t God want Daniel and his friends to eat and drink the king’s choice food?

The king appointed for them a daily ration from the king’s choice food and from the wine which he drank, and appointed that they should be educated three years, at the end of which they were to enter the king’s personal service. (Daniel 1:5)

But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s choice food or with the wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself. (Daniel 1:8)

18 Look at the nation Israel; are not those who eat the sacrifices sharers in the altar? (1 Corinthians 10:18)

The New Living Translation says,

18 Look at the nation Israel; are not those who eat the sacrifices sharers in the altar? (1 Corinthians 10:18)

20 No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. (1 Corinthians 10:20-21)

But as Peter was instructed,

14 But Peter said, “By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.” 15 Again a voice came to him a second time, “What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.” (Acts 10:14-15)

23 everything that can stand the fire, you shall pass through the fire, and it shall be clean, but it shall be purified with water for impurity. But whatever cannot stand the fire you shall pass through the water. (Numbers 31:23)

29 “Is not My word like fire?” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer which shatters a rock? (Jeremiah 23:29)

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer. (1 Timothy 4:4-5)
