Why can’t we hear each other?

¹⁸ Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. ¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is the one who catches the wise in their craftiness”; ²⁰ and again, “The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless.” (1 Corinthians 3:18-20)

If the people of the world think you are wise, you are a fool to God and His people. If you know the wisdom of God and use it, the people of the world will think you are a fool. Hence, the proverb:

²⁷ An unjust man is abominable to the righteous,
And he who is upright in the way is abominable to the wicked. (Proverbs 29:27)

⁴³ Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. ⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. ⁴⁵ But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. (John 8:43-45)
